This page contains a list of highly recommended resources I have used with great success in my own Virtual Assistant Business.
Bill Myers Online Everything I know about using Camtasia to create video demos I learned from this site. He is also so helpful in his forum about product creation. I have been a member (only $10 month) for about a year an a half. I will never drop this membership as Bill is the kind of guy who provides a huge amount of information for the tiny bit he charges. I have also bought three of his DVDs on video production.
Hostgator-Great hosting service. Especially if you are using a Wordpress blog. Everyone I know uses them. I used to recommend Go Daddy but I have actually had quite a bit of problems with them lately. Go Daddy is really cheap to get your domain name registered but for reliable Hosting use Hostgator. If you can recommend them to your clients you will even get a nice commission on the side.
1Shopping cart- This is a combo newsletter/autoresponder/shopping cart and Affiliate Management System. To get all the services it will cost your client $99/month. If they only want the e-mail part it is about $29/month. If your client knows they will want to sell products one day they out to start with 1shopping cart. If they won’t want products just go with Aweber. Out of all the Shopping Carts out there, this one has the best reputation for reliability. Believe me, you do not want something going wrong with your shopping cart! It is just not worth it.
Aweber This service is used to send a series of e-mails to people who may be interested in your products or services. I use them for my own mailing list and I have used them for a bunch of clients already. Everyone I know uses Aweber.
Audioacrobat- I use this to store all my audios and videos. It is nice to have them all organized in one spot and I like not having them all on my own server so I don’t use up all my storage space and bandwidth. It provides better audio quality than just recording from a free conference room.
Basecamp- I use this as a project management tool for clients and my team. We store all documents, media and e-mails here and clients can create To Do lists and place them in this tool. It is a lot easier to learn than Sharepoint or many of the other Project Management tools.
Boxed Art-This site contains tons of templates for Websites and PowerPoint Presentations. You pay one fee for 3 months of unlimited access. I used it for about 6 months, got 4 awesome Websites out of it, and was very satisfied with the assortment of templates. It paid for itself because I could charge for one template the same as what the whole membership cost me.
My Hours-Nice free tool to track your hours and the hours of your team. You can then export them to Excel and send them with your invoice.
Andrew and Daryl - They are this cute couple from Australia who made ALOT of money creating info products. Their course taught me everything I know about setting up Google Adwords accounts. Now my clients do not waste money on paying for clicks that don’t get them any return on Investment. Andrew and Daryl also show you how to use Rentacoder to get info products created. I have saved my clients a lot of money this way as we can outsource an e-book to rentacoder a lot cheaper than it can be done here in the US.
Affiliate Commotion-Great training by Angela Wills on how to set up an Affiliate Managment System. Only $17/month and worth every penny! You need to know about this if you have a client who wants to get other people to promote their products for a commission. This course gives you all the info you need to set up this type of program.
Outsourcing Sweetie membership- Alice Seba runs this membership site for people who want to outsource but I have been using her Outsourcing Sweetie membership for all her cheat sheets that can be used to teach yourself how to do everything your clients would ever want you to do and for $10.00 month it is so worth it. I have bought just about every E-book that Alice Seba has written when I was first learning about Internet Marketing. She really over delivers on content and I have never regretted a single product I have bought from her.
Five Key Steps to your Virtual Assistance Business-Lisa Taliga does a very thorough job in providing you all the resources you would need to get your VA Business off the ground and you get some fabulous bonuses.
Train your Affiliates- Super valuable site by Liz Tomey. Lots of free tutorials on setting up your site, using mailing lists and promoting. I also took her Joint Ventures class which was awesome and only $45.00. It comes with tons of videos and interviews. Liz is straight to the point and very real.
Hope you get as much out of these resources as I have. They have made all the difference in my success.
