Do you Want to Know More about the VA Industry?

While investigating a Trackback that was sent to me about Virtual Assistants and Video Services I ended up at a  new Virtual Assistant Website that really impressed me with its writing style and the background of its creator, Yelena McManaman, who is a Russian VA specializing in Project Management.  While reading her blog I came across a survey she designed to learn more about the VA industry. After taking the survey I thought to myself:

Will Virtual Assistants want and benefit from having basic information about our industry available to us all? I think it would be interesting information to know more about Virtual Assistant rates, how many Virtual Assistants run multi-VA business and, perhaps, how Virtual Assistants market themselves. I did like Yelena’s last question about the biggest challenges facing Virtual Assistants today. I didn’t choose any of her responses because I didn’t see them as challenges. I added my own reply which was ” trying to learn everything you need to know to really succeed in this business. As an Internet Marketing VA it is incredible how much information there is to learn.”

If you would like to participate and have a free copy of the report for doing so please fill out her Virtual Assistant Survey. Also, if you would like to comment, I am interested in knowing what sort of information do you think would be beneficial for VAs to know about each other?

Not to take anything away from Yelena, but the VACOC is conducting its third annual survey of the virtual assistant industry, now through the end of August. It’s 100+ questions include everything from demographics (age, sex, race, etc.) to services offered, time in business, rates, etc. Don’t let the number of questions stop you; they’re multiple choice answers, and they’re answered very quickly.

I encourage all Virtual Assistants to participate in the VACOC’s survey (and, no, I’m not a member, so I don’t get anything out of encouraging participation) because like Michelle, Yelena and the VACOC, I think it’s important for virtual assistants to know as much about the industry as possible.

To take the survey, go to http://gs-survey.com/s.asp?s=3702&bhcp=1. To learn more about the survey go to http://www.virtualassistantnetworking.com/survey.htm. Survey results will be used to help educate the media, other virtual assistants and virtual assistant wannabes about the industry.
