How a Virtual Assistant can Create Product Demos for their Client

If you are a Virtual assistant who is interested in adding to your skill set by getting into the area of video production, you will find many avenues to use your new skills. In addition to recording Webinars and creating software screencasts I have lately been asked to create demos for physical products.

My most recent product demo was for a baby gifts Website. I used both Camtasia and Sony Vegas Video to create a demo with just two slides, a voice over and background music. I think it came out very well. My client is planning to place this demo plus future product demos on both her Website and on YouTube.  When people search for baby gifts and see her video it should bring lots of traffic to her site.

With the interest people have in video these days perhaps Camtasia demos or video production is a service you may want to consider offering.

Check out this one minute demo below. In a future post I will show you exactly how I did it.

Very nice. Camtasia and Sony Vegas are the cream of the crop. If you don’t have access to those tools, there’s a free tool from Microsoft called PhotoStory that lets you produce a similar effect.

Yes. I have heard of that tool and have been meaning to try it. Sony Vegas just has some really nice transitions and video effects. I’m not sure if you can do the text overs in Photostory either, but I will have to check it out. Thanks-

You’re correct; you can’t do text overs in Photostory. Sony Vegas is much more flexible.

  5. [...] Can this task - creation of a marketing video - be outsourced to a virtual assistant? Sure enough! As a matter of fact, I found a VA who specializes in this particular niche. Michelle Schoen’s website and blog are great examples of using short custom videos. Michelle’s examples are mostly “how-to” such as this one: Another use of videos might be for a product demo .
