Creating Visibility with LinkedIn

The main goal of a business when creating a company page on LinkedIn is visibility and to create awareness allowing companies to build relationships.

And what better way is there to create awareness then using and creating video to build relationships with your connections. Who better understands the value of building relationships and connections than LinkedIn? Paired with video hosted on YouTube, the two engaged together promise a beautiful business marriage.

By creating a company page you are allowing LinkedIn to promote the interests of your business. LinkedIn company page profiles have the ability to appear in Google search results, just like videos on YouTube. Maybe this is why LinkedIn choose to use YouTube to pull in videos for company pages.

There are a lot of statistics out there about whether having a video on your Opt-in or Sales page helps with conversions. Every one of them shows a definite rise in sales and leads. My friend, Craig Cannings, the founder of VA Classroom has started using my services to add introductions and endings to his videos to make them really fun and enticing.  The video below is for his new class on how a VA can benefit from the rise in Social Marketing.  And he is offering a free class on October 28th called “7 Profitable Social Media Services To Offer In 2009“  He’ll be talking about the myriad of ways that VAs can help their clients with their on-line reputation and get paid quite well for those tasks.

I have just gotten into doing social marketing for myself (mostly on Twitter) and have made a ridiculous amount of new connections with people whose work I admire and who may refer me to new clients. If you, like Craig, are someone who wants to add videos to their site you might start by getting a copy of Sony Vegas. That is the software I use to do most of my video editing. I found a nice tutorial for Sony Vegas here.

The Squidoo idea is simple and easy to explain: allow anyone to build a single page, called a lens, on a topic that he or she is passionate about. SO, I get it.  I am passionate about creating Camtasia videos and helping other VAs build their businesses. Perhaps that should be my Squidoo lens. Duh, so I made one.  Well I started to. Check out this demo to see a couple of other VA’s lenses and then decide if you should throw one up too.
